The smart card was invented in France 50 years ago, and ISRA continues to manufacture them in a secure facility within France.

Since the early 2000s, ISRA has established a dedicated dust-free production area and has supported the evolution of smart cards, including contactless technologies such as RFID and NFC.

Today, ISRA can integrate electronic devices like chips or antennas by embedding or printing them onto their products, including paper. The ISBIO range features the first 0-plastic, 100% recyclable smart cards, entirely produced locally from PEFC-certified paper.

ISRA’s smart cards meet the full range of applications needed by our clients: access, micropayments, authentication, identity, and more. To achieve this, ISRA is a member of various associations and consortia (such as Calypso Network Association, Adcet, Arianee) and collaborates with partners (such as Neowave) to effectively address its diverse markets.
